About the role
The FESCO Group is looking to hire a Product Sourcing Specialist to join the team in their Brooklyn HQ. The company has been in business for more than 60 years, and while consumer electronics distribution & manufacturing are at its roots, over the past decade, a strong eCommerce business has been added as well. Currently, we are one of the largest sellers of consumer electronics to all big-box retailers and are growing our online presence across multiple channels. We sell an extensive array of consumer products (e.g., consumer electronics, health, and beauty, fitness, and housewares) across many online and offline platforms, both company-owned and third-party. We have over 3,000 products within 15 well-known brands (including House of Harlow, Body Glove, The Weather Channel, Car & Driver, Perry Ellis, Epilady, Coby Audio, Game Punk and Charge Worx). www.thefescogroup.com The Fesco Group In this role, you will conduct general administrative duties designed to support FESCO Product Development & Sourcing Group (including but not limited to the tracking, receiving and organization of all product samples). This is an excellent entry-level position to begin your career here specifically at FESCO and aggressively learn product sourcing and development.
What You'll Do:
This job role requires using Excel spreadsheets and project management tools (like Asana) to keep track of all product samples and prototypes. Provide support on daily procurement activities and execution. (Assist in: placing and pricing. orders; follow up with order status; and contact vendors, manufacturers and our China-based office for any additional information needed. You will assist procurement managers in closing the loop of sourcing, procurement, and fulfillment activities).Source products in various consumer products categories Create and maintain an organized, easily accessible, "product sample" logging system. Complete and submit monthly reports (various).Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system. Misc. answer phones, filing, shredding, attend meetings, assist w/physical inventory.
Position Requirements:
College Degree with business or related major required 0-3 years product sourcing experience within a consumer products company / manufacturer Strong organization and communication skills Team player who takes initiative Proficient in MS Excel
