Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000 Base + Bonus
Schedule: Full-time, on-site Metric Search is partnering with a global manufacturing organization to hire a Manufacturing Controller for its Florham Park, NJ facility. This is a hands-on finance role working closely with plant leadership, production, engineering, purchasing and logistics. The successful candidate will combine strong manufacturing cost accounting experience with the ability to understand what is happening on the shop floor and translate operational performance into financial results.
Responsibilities: Own manufacturing cost accounting, month-end close and controlling activities. Manage standard costing, periodic cost runs, cost allocations and manufacturing variance analysis. Analyze material, labor, overhead, scrap, inventory and other key manufacturing cost drivers. Work with BOMs and routings to ensure accurate product costing. Partner directly with plant management, production, engineering, purchasing and logistics. Translate operational KPIs, including downtime, scrap, material consumption and production efficiency, into financial impact. Evaluate capital investments, inventory decisions and other operational business cases. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste and control costs. Provide clear financial analysis and recommendations to plant and business leadership. Maintain strong financial controls, reporting accuracy and ERP data quality.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.3+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong standard costing and manufacturing cost accounting experience. Experience analyzing manufacturing variances, inventory and operational cost drivers. Working knowledge of BOMs and routings. Strong SAP or comparable manufacturing ERP experience. Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills. Comfortable working directly with plant operations and regularly spending time on the shop floor. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
