Part-Time Adult Education CNC Machining Technology Instructor The scope of instruction includes, but is not limited to, the development and instructional program related to job preparation, planning, and inspection; blueprint and drawing interpretation including the interpretation of models and drawings will assist in determining the appropriate machining processes. Work collaboratively with career technical teaching and support staff, and program partners. Experience preferred working with adult students including diverse learners. Experience working with advisory committees and off-site community and business members. Ability to instruct and troubleshoot software and technical problems. The preferred candidate will also have demonstrated strong organizational program delivery and communication skills, both written and oral. Strong technology skills both organizationally and instructionally. • The scope of instruction includes, but is not limited to, the development and instructional program related to job preparation, planning, and inspection; blueprint and drawing interpretation including the interpretation of models and drawings will assist in determining the appropriate machining processes; the selection and use of precision measuring instruments used to aligned to the dimensions and tolerances of part drawings and models; the use of ancillary machines, tools, and equipment used to assist in preparation and completion of CNC machined parts (saws, grinders, sanders, manual mills, and lathes, etc); programming a vertical 3-axis CNC milling machine and 2-axis CNC lathe using PC-based MasterCAM software; programming using menu structure, interactive graphics, 2D-geometry creation, and editing and tool path simulation; high-speed machining (HSM) or high-efficiency machining (HEM) such as Machining at a high cutting speed (vc), Machining with a high spindle speed (n), Machining with a high feed rate (vf) and Machining with a high removal rate (Q)(HSM); axis combinations, rotary points, and zero positions as they relate to MasterCAM and Industry safety. The scope of instruction includes the development of activities and curriculum in a wide variety of career and technical settings for elective and academic credit in a state-of-the-art career and technical learning facility. Work with students to develop employability skills with hands-on experiences utilizing classroom and other work projects. Prepare students for NIMS Machining Level 1 Certification.
