We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning, Development and Natural Resources (PDNR) team as a Civil PE - Land Development in our High Point, NC office. If you want to work at a company that will help you become the best you can be, we’re glad you found McKim & Creed.*** Candidates must currently reside in the greater High Point (Winston Salem / Greensboro) NC areasWHAT YOU NEEDBS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with NC PE registration A minimum of 5-10+ years of experience in Civil Land Development design for Residential, Commercial and/or Industrial projects requiredKnowledge & experience working with NC State and local permitting agenciesExperienced & Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MS Word, Excel, OutlookExperience with Hydraflow (or similar software) is strongly preferredExperience with stormwater design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling strongly desiredVery good presentation, technical writing and public speaking skillsAn excellent grasp of the land development field along with leadership, team building and communication abilitiesWillingness to mentor and train junior engineersRequires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal recordWHAT TO EXPECT DAY-TO-DAYBe responsible for project management and design of land (site) development, including commercial and residential development design and permitting for water, sewer, grading, erosion control, and storm drainageExtensive knowledge of standard practices within appropriate discipline including design and constructionServe as key contact with major clientsActive in professional organizations, professional development and mentoring of staffAble to successfully lead and supervise a project team on the execution of projects of all sizes and levels of complexityEnsure that all aspects of the project are followed through to completion which includes client meetings, project team communication, monitoring budget and progress and A/R collectionsIndividually contributes, formulates and guides solutions to technical problems of exceptional difficulty and marked importance to the companyResponsibilities include conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare various reports, writing proposals, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications and prepare permit submittals for civil engineering projectsWHAT WE OFFER: Join a company that puts its employees first.
