Research Tech IIThe Research Tech II will work for a research lab housed within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences: the Close Relationships across the Lifespan Lab, directed by Dr. William Chopik. This is a part-time, 20-hour-per-week, benefits-eligible position. The start date for this position is between October 1 and October 31 of 2026.Primary responsibilities include assisting with purchasing and reimbursements, drafting and editing IRB applications and amendments, assisting with data request and data use agreements, creating and managing surveys using survey software such as Qualtrics, performing data quality and analysis code checks in R, recruiting and scheduling research participants, running participants in laboratory or online sessions, conducting literature searches and summarizing relevant literature for research projects, creating and updating data dictionaries, and supervising undergraduate research assistants in the aforementioned tasks. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Research Tech would have the (optional) opportunity to lead conference presentation(s) and/or manuscript(s) as their schedule allows. Preferred Qualifications:
An interest in at least some of the CRL Lab's research topics or methods: close relationships, longitudinal changes, dyadic and person perception methods, and archival data analysis. Experience with online data collection platforms such as MTurk and Prolific Academic. Knowledge of and experience with implementing open science practices (e.g., open data, open materials, preregistration). Proficiency with Qualtrics or other online survey software. Excellent organizational skills, including exceptional attention to detail. Excellent professionalism and trustworthiness, including communicativeness, the ability to deliver on agreed-upon tasks, and respect for research participants and scientific integrity. Excellent interpersonal and management skills, including with research assistants, older adults, and community participants. Excellent problem-solving abilities, resourcefulness, and persistence when faced with new challenges. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Grade:
R06-HSalary Range: $16.92 - $26.44 / Hourly. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
