About the role
Descriptionperforming preventative maintenance on a variety of powered industrial equipment batteries according to company policy; federal, state, and local regulations; repair manuals; factory specifications; and his or her own knowledge of the powered industrial equipment batteries and assisting in other duties as assigned. Required Qualificationsmust be at least 18 years old or at least 19 years old for positions in Alabama ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment ability to read, write, and solve math problems successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position) Computation Following Written Directions Space Visualization Mechanical Aptitude ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance-management system ability to work well with others and be a team member ability to work in a fast-paced environment excellent attendance and punctuality willingness and ability to advance excellent verbal and written skills strong problems-solving skills self-motivated individual safe work habits obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work, and a commitment to Publix and our mission. Preferred Qualificationscurrent Industrial Maintenance associate have a valid driver's license and authorization to drive a company vehicle on or before his or her start date in the position. Year End BonusTo reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay. Other Compensation InformationWeekend Differential: A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
