About the Role:
This is a career-defining opportunity for a senior Fire Protection Engineer who wants more than just project delivery. We’re working with a growing fire protection engineering consultancy that is looking to hire a Principal / Director of Fire Protection Engineering to build, lead, and grow a national practice. This role blends technical leadership, client development, and strategic growth, and is ideal for someone who enjoys being both a trusted technical authority and a visible industry leader. You’ll have the autonomy to shape the direction of the business, grow client relationships, and build a team — while still staying close enough to the work to ensure technical excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and grow a fire protection engineering practice at a national level Drive business development, including client relationship management, proposal strategy, and market expansion Serve as senior technical authority on complex fire and life safety projects Develop and mentor a team of fire protection engineers Represent the firm in client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations Support long-term strategic planning and revenue growth Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the organization
What We’re Looking For:
12–20+ years of fire protection engineering experience Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (required)Proven experience in business development, client growth, or practice leadership Strong technical background across fire alarm, suppression, life safety, and performance-based design Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance strategy, leadership, and delivery Excellent communication and client-facing presence Why This Role: Executive-level impact and visibility Fully remote, U.S.-based Opportunity to build and lead a national practice Highly competitive compensation with performance incentives Long-term leadership and equity-style growth potential
