About the role

Rental Manager A well-established equipment dealership is seeking an experienced Rental Manager to oversee rental operations, fleet performance, customer relationships, and the overall growth of the rental department. This is a great opportunity for someone with equipment rental, construction, agricultural, or heavy equipment experience who enjoys working with customers and leading a team.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily rental department operations
  • Oversee rental fleet availability, utilization, and condition
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Grow rental revenue and identify new business opportunities
  • Coordinate equipment reservations, deliveries, pickups, and returnsWork with customers to determine the right equipment for their projects
  • Develop rental quotes, agreements, and pricing
  • Monitor rental contracts, extensions, and equipment returnsWork closely with service and parts departments to keep rental equipment ready
  • Monitor fleet maintenance and communicate repair needs
  • Manage rental inventory and equipment turnover
  • Track rental activity, sales, utilization, and profitability
  • Train, lead, and support rental staff
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally
  • Maintain accurate rental records and documentation
  • Ensure company safety policies and rental procedures are followed
Qualifications:
  • Previous equipment rental or heavy equipment experience preferred
  • Rental management, sales, or operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction, agricultural, or industrial equipment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with rental, inventory, and CRM software
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance and service needs
  • Strong business and financial awareness
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
