Job Description Job Description About the Role: Irie Ting Jamaican Grill LLC is looking for a passionate and experienced Jamaican Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen in Richmond, VA! This is your chance to bring authentic Jamaican flavors to life while running a tight, high-energy kitchen operation. Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute authentic Jamaican dishes including jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, rice and peas, and other traditional menu itemsOversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are metManage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance oversightMonitor food inventory, place orders, and manage food cost controls to minimize wasteEnsure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code regulationsCollaborate with ownership on menu development, specials, and seasonal offeringsMaintain kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed Requirements: Proven experience preparing authentic Jamaican cuisine in a professional kitchen settingPrior kitchen management or lead cook experience requiredStrong knowledge of Caribbean spices, cooking techniques, and traditional recipesServSafe certification or equivalent food handler certification (or ability to obtain) Ability to manage, motivate, and lead a kitchen team in a fast-paced environmentSolid understanding of food cost management, inventory control, and orderingReliable, organized, and passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience About Us: Irie Ting Jamaican Grill LLC is Richmond, VA's go-to destination for bold, authentic Jamaican flavors made with love and island tradition.
