About the role
🚀 Principal AI/ML Engineer | Build the AI capability, not just the modelsI’m working with an organisation looking for a Principal AI/ML Engineer to help shape how AI is engineered, deployed and scaled across the business. This is not a purely strategic role. You’ll be hands-on with production ML while also setting the technical direction, engineering standards and MLOps practices across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
👇🔹 Design and build production-grade ML solutions🔹 Shape the AI/ML platform and architecture🔹 Establish best practice across MLOps, deployment, monitoring and retraining🔹 Own the end-to-end model lifecycle🔹 Build monitoring around performance, drift and bias🔹 Champion Responsible AI, governance and model risk🔹 Work closely with Data, Platform, Architecture, Security and business teams🔹 Create reusable frameworks, reference implementations and technical standards🔹 Mentor engineers and lead technical reviews🔹 Evaluate emerging AI technologies and turn them into practical solutions What were looking for: Someone with strong hands-on experience across:🐍 Python & SQL🤖 Machine Learning / modern ML frameworks⚙️ MLOps & production ML📊 Statistics & ML techniques🧠 Responsible AI☁️ AI/ML platforms & model lifecycle management You’ll also need to be comfortable operating at Principal level - influencing architecture, challenging existing approaches, communicating with senior stakeholders and raising the engineering bar around you. Why it’s interesting You won’t just be building another model and moving onto the next project. You’ll have genuine influence over how AI is built, governed, deployed and improved across the organisation. If you're a senior AI/ML engineer who wants to stay technical while having a real say in the direction of AI, I'd love to speak.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
