About the role
Responsibilities:
Lead the company’s accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP and applicable insurance industry requirements
Oversee internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes
Coordinate annual audits and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors
Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
Monitor regulatory reporting and compliance requirements applicable to the insurance industry
Manage and develop accounting team members
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, controls, and overall efficiency
Support special projects and continued organizational growthQualifications
Active CPA license required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
Insurance industry accounting experience required
Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable senior accounting leadership experience
Strong knowledge ofGAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit requirements
Experience working within a regulated insurance environment
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Ability to operate effectively in a growing, fast-paced organization
