Our compassion, integrity, accountability, and resilience define us as leaders in pediatric specialty care for our children and their families.With 20+ hospitals, outpatient clinics, ambulatory care centers and outreach locations across the globe, we provide excellent care to children up to age 18 regardless of their family's ability to pay or insurance status.The Operating Room Nurse Manager is accountable for overall management of patient care, nursing staff, and ancillary staff in the Surgical Services (i.e. AM / SDS, Pre and Post Anesthetic care, Operation Room and Central Sterile departments). Provides supervision to competent RNs, OR Techs, NA and ancillary staff. Directs ongoing evaluation of safety and quality of patient care. Develops annual operating and capital equipment budgets in accordance with organizational and patient care needs. Plans and controls staff and supply utilization within allocated funds. Collaborates with administrative, medical and interdisciplinary staff in the analysis and improvement of programs, systems and staff development. Provides direct patient care as necessary.Key Responsibilities:Provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the Operating Room. Supervises activities of surgical services personnel in providing care to patients and family members.Assists in the developing, implementing and tracking unit based key performance indicators supporting Performance Improvement programs and other measurements.Directs employee selection, hiring, orientation, training and ongoing staff development for the Operating Room.Communicates and maintains liaison with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff and ancillary personnel in various hospital departments.Demonstrates correct use and operation of required equipment according to written competency checklist procedure on file.Demonstration of professional practice and career development. Maintains clinical competency by successfully completing yearly skills updates, attends in-services and reviews current professional literature and distributes appropriate findings. Maintains memberships in appropriate medical/professional organizations. Formulates and meets annual performance goals.Supervises various personnel actions including, but not limited to, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules. Maintains ongoing feedback with employees supervised.Required Qualifications:BSNRN license in state of practiceBasic Life Support (BLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Preferred Qualifications:3 years Management/Supervisory experience in healthcare setting2 years pediatric experienceThe pay range for this position is $90.08 - $127.17/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
