Sales Director
wells street growthDenver (CO)
About the role
A Wells Street Growth client is looking to add their first sales leader to own and scale revenue growth. You'll be responsible for the full sales motion — from refining our ideal customer profile and messaging, to running point on enterprise deals, to eventually building and leading a small sales team. This is a hands-on, player-coach role: you'll be closing deals yourself in year one while laying the foundation (process, tooling, playbooks) for a team to scale behind you. You'll work closely with the founders, product, and customer success to make sure what we sell matches what we can deliver — and to feed market feedback back into the roadmap.
What You'll Do:
Own the sales pipeline end-to-end: prospecting, qualification, demos, negotiation, and close Develop and refine our go-to-market strategy for specialty contractors, distributors, and adjacent trades Build repeatable sales processes, messaging, and collateral suited to a mid-market/SMB construction buyer Manage and report on pipeline, forecasting, and revenue metrics to leadership Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and contractor association events Develop relationships with key accounts and champion customers who can serve as references and case studies Partner with marketing on lead generation strategy and campaign feedback Partner with product and customer success on pricing, packaging, and roadmap input based on market signal Lay the groundwork to hire, onboard, and manage future account executives and SDRs as the team grows What We're Looking For 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior individual-contributor or sales leadership roleA track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota, ideally in a mid-market or SMB motion Comfort operating without a large existing playbook — you like building process, not just following one Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical product value into terms a busy contractor or estimator will act on Data-driven approach to pipeline management and forecasting (CRM discipline, not gut feel)Willingness to travel periodically for trade shows, customer visits, and industry events Startup mentality: resourceful, low-ego, comfortable wearing multiple hats at this stage
Nice to Have:
Experience selling into construction, real estate, or another traditionally offline/paper-heavy industry is a strong plus Prior experience as an early sales hire at a startup that scaled from ~$2M to $10M+ ARR
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
