Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Must possess a Driver license and be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 52 pounds. The driving records of the qualifying applicants will be subject to review by the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. Recruitment Notes This is routine field work in reading and recording readings of water meters. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the accurate recordings of water meter readings, maintaining good working relationships with customers, and maintaining their equipment and vehicles in good operating order. The incumbent in this position may be required to clean out meter boxes and replace, or report upon, broken lids and covers. This position entails extensive walking to include assigned meter routes routinely consisting of an average of 350 to 400 meters daily, reading meters, and recording readings electronically. Preferences Field experience working outside in various terrain conditions and exposed to the weather elements and/or working for a water and sewer utility, natural gas telephone, cellular, electric, geothermal, or other customer service utility is preferred.
