Some local natural history knowledge and retail experience a plus! As a volunteer, you will help promote, restore, and protect the natural and cultural resources of Russian River Area State Parks through interpretation, public stewardship, education programming, community science, and through connecting visitors to their parks! In addition to serving in beautiful Western Sonoma County, volunteers also receive: An annual free Day Use Pass for all State Parks in the Sonoma-Mendocino Coast District for volunteering 40 hours or more per year. A t-shirt or sweatshirt of your choice of color with a Stewards volunteer logo on it for volunteering 75 hours or more per year. An annual free Day Use Pass for all California State Parks for volunteering 200 hours or more per year. Discounted membership to Bay Nature magazine Due to our partnership with California State Parks, Stewards is proud to be able to offer these benefits to our volunteers.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
