About the role

Veterinary Externship Opportunity Northpointe Animal Hospital in Lynnwood, WA, is a well-established site providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We are surgery/dentistry, urgent care strong. Our staff is Fear Free trained, and we are pursuing AAHA accreditation in the near future. We are currently running 4 surgery days and are focused on continuing to grow out our ever-expanding dentistry services. We recently underwent a renovation and offer state-of-the-art equipment such as a dental x-ray machine, laser therapy, ultrasound, and dental delivery machine. We have constructed a new surgery suite, an x-ray room, an exclusive dental suite, a brand-new doctor's office space, five exam rooms, and a spacious treatment area. Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Northpointe Animal Hospital are designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Northpointe Animal Hospital is $1,500.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
