About the role

Akouva is looking for a Podcast Partnerships Specialist to find new podcasts interested in being listed on our ad-free podcasting app. Working directly with the founder, this part-time contract role presents a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new venture in the world of podcast media!
The Company: Akouva is a brand-new podcast app offering a better solution for listeners and podcasters alike. With one subscription, listeners get access to hundreds of hours of ad-free podcasting from a variety of independent podcasters, and that subscription helps support their favourite shows better than ads ever could. We’re a new venture, but experienced in the podcasting world, and we’re looking for someone who wants to come in on the ground floor and grow the role both in scope and responsibility! This is a part-time role with an expected work load roughly equivalent to one day a week.
The Role: Akouva lives and dies by the number and quality podcasts available on the platform – the job of the Partnerships Specialist is to make sure that we’re always “living” by ensuring that our listeners as much of both of those as possible. Working directly with the Founder, as a Specialist you’ll be in charge of identifying opportunities and securing partnerships with podcasts and podcast networks to make their shows available to Akouva subscribers. This is a full-spectrum sales role, where you’ll be handling all steps of the process from initial research through to eventual onboarding. Specific responsibilities of the role include:·        Research and identification of new podcasts to bring onto the Akouva platform.·        Outreach and initial contact with those podcasts, including identifying the best people at said podcasts to contact.·        Leading calls with podcast hosts and network owners to discuss the benefits of Akouva and the processes involved.·        Making new podcasts available on the Akouva app via our RSS-monitoring system. You will also be responsible for making sure all opportunities and contacts are properly recorded on Akouva’s CRM, and will be an inputting partner into marketing strategies aimed to reach podcast hosts and network stakeholders. You will be compensated with a base monthly payment, with additional bonuses for every podcast you successfully onboard onto the Akouva platform. The Person We’re not looking for someone super-specific for this role; we think it would be a good fit for someone wanting to get started in the world of sales, or someone looking to break into the industry side of podcasting with something new, but we want to make this role feel open for anyone and everyone. That being said, we do have some key qualities we’re looking for in an ideal Partnerships Specialist.·        An Independent Worker Akouva is a small company, without the time or resources to be constantly supervising every aspect of working life. You’ll have a lot of freedom in how you approach the responsibilities, but we expect an equal amount of drive to get your work done without constant supervision in the manner that best works for you.·        Creative and Inventive We’re doing something a bit new in the podcast space, and we’re looking for someone who’s take equally new approaches. Podcasts and networks get plenty of contacts from all sorts of businesses every day – our ideal Specialist isn’t afraid to try something different to break through all that noise to get their attention.·        Eager to Learn, Eager to Grow We won’t lie – this is a small, startup business; that’s why we’re starting with just a one-day-a-week contract role. But it’s got potential, and we’re after someone who can see that and work to fulfil it. We’re not expecting you to come in knowing everything there is to know about podcasting and those who do it, but we’re expecting you to want to learn about it, to understand it, and to want to take steps towards guaranteeing Akouva’s success and growing the successes and responsibilities of your role into a full-time career and eventually into a full partnerships management role at Akouva. Small companies can dream big; we want people who’ll dream with us. If you have any questions about the role or responsibilities, please feel free to reach out to us via Linked In!

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
