Our software engineers work closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, product development, and testing teams to create complete products that combine software and physical hardware. We are looking for a Full Stack Software Developer to help design, build, and scale modern software for current and future Grace Company products. This is a product focused role where you will have opportunities to work across front end applications, backend services, databases, cloud systems, and hardware integration. Our software directly interacts with physical products, giving our developers the opportunity to see their work move from an idea to a real product being used by customers. You will be part of a small, high impact engineering team building new products and systems from the ground up. Your decisions will directly influence architecture, performance, scalability, and user experience. This position requires working on site with our engineering and product development teams. It is not a remote or hybrid position. This is a product focused role where you will have opportunities to work across front end and backend systems. Build and maintain modern applications across front end and backend systems Develop intuitive user interfaces for desktop, tablet, mobile, and web applications Develop backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud connected systems Build software that communicates with physical products and embedded hardware Work with technologies such as Flutter/Dart, Java Script/Type Script, Python, and other modern development frameworks Design systems that connect applications, cloud services, databases, and hardware devices Build interactive graphical interfaces and tools Improve application performance, reliability, responsiveness, and scalability Collaborate directly with mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, QA, and product teams Participate in architecture decisions and long term technical direction Prototype new concepts and help determine the best technologies for future products Turn real customer problems into clean, intuitive software solutions Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack software applications Build scalable front end and backend architectures Develop and integrate REST APIs and real time communication systems Design and work with databases and data models Integrate software with hardware and embedded systems Debug complex issues that may cross software, firmware, hardware, and network boundaries Optimize application performance across different devices and environments Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, QA, and release processes Participate in feature planning, user story development, prototyping, and product testing Improve UI/UX through testing, feedback, and iteration Work directly with other engineering disciplines throughout the product development process Help establish scalable software practices as our products and development teams grow Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience 2+ years of professional software development experience Experience developing both front end and backend software Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, application architecture, and debugging Experience building desktop, mobile, web, or cross platform applications Experience developing or integrating REST APIsExperience working with databases Experience with Git and modern version control workflows Ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and technologies as product needs evolve Strong problem solving and communication skills Experience with one or more modern application technologies or frameworks, such as:Flutter / Dart React Java Script / Type ScriptNETNative mobile or desktop development Similar modern frameworks Experience with one or more backend technologies, such as:Node.js PythonNETJava Similar backend technologies Experience with:REST APIsDatabase driven applications Authentication and user accounts Cloud connected applications Application and data architecture Because many Grace products combine software and physical hardware, experience working with hardware is valuable. Helpful experience includes:Bluetooth / BLEUSB or serial communication Embedded systems Firmware communication Real time systems Device protocols Motion controlCNC or robotics systems IoT devices Direct hardware experience is not required, but candidates should be interested in learning how software interacts with physical products. We are looking for someone who:Is a strong problem solver and can work across the full software stack Enjoys building real products, not just isolated software features Is product minded and cares about the customer's experience Takes ownership of problems and follows them through to completion Builds clean, understandable, and scalable solutions Is comfortable learning technologies outside their current expertise Enjoys collaborating directly with engineers from other disciplines Can communicate clearly with both technical and non technical team members Is comfortable working in a fast moving product development environment Enjoys prototyping, testing ideas, learning from failures, and improving designs Wants to work directly with the products and people they are developing software for Because our software is tightly connected to physical products, this role works on site with our engineering team and hardware. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available for this position. At Grace Company, software development is part of the complete product development process. You may spend one day developing an application interface, another working on backend architecture, and another testing software directly on a new piece of hardware with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers. Our developers have the opportunity to influence products from early prototypes through production and see customers use the systems they helped is an on site engineering role designed for someone who enjoys collaborating directly with a multidisciplinary product development team.
