Role Description: The Applications Engineer is a full-time, on-site or hybrid role based in Byron Center, MI. You'll support the sales process for engineered warehouse and factory solutions — from material handling systems to custom metal assemblies — by translating customer needs into technical concepts. In this role, you will: Collaborate with sales and engineering to translate customer requirements into application concepts and layouts Interact directly with customers, developing concepts and providing technical guidance throughout the sales process Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and proposals
Qualifications
Required: Strong foundation in mechanical engineering Experience with material handling systems and/or automation Proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor strongly preferred)Degree in Engineering or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience in industrial/manufacturing environments Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally Sharp problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and qualityA plus: Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles related to automation, controls, or integrated systems Experience with metal fabrication
