About the role

Aircraft Surface Preparation Prepares aircraft surfaces, mask, prime, apply finish coatings, and anti-corrosion chemical treatment. Performs a variety of operations to prepare and/or execute correct finish on sheet metal and extrusion parts. Plan, layout, interpret blueprints and engineering specifications; determine sequence of operations, number of required pieces and method of setup. Uses a variety of tools and precision measuring instruments. Makes standard shop calculations relating to preparation and/or cure times. May monitor and verify quality with statistical process or other control procedures. May input data as required. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager as directed.
Basic Qualifications: 1 year of relevant or like experience in composite laminate layup and/or applying primer, low observable understanding, sealant usage, & understand topcoat materials application on F-35 canopies. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience with surface preparation and coatings/painting and/or anti-corrosion chemical application and treatment. Experience reading Blue-Print/work order specifications. Experience using hand tools (i.e. sanding tools, cutting blades, brushes, scales, templates, and various other hand
Desired Skills: Previous knowledge or experience using low observable materials Excellent communication skills Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook) and work order software such as Solumina. Critical thinking & problem solving abilitiesF35 Coating Experience. Pay Information: Pay rate for this position is $24.90 - $41.54 per hour.
