About the role
Yard Associate, Building Materials The Yard Associate, Building Materials is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely loading of building materials and products as specified by customer orders and Company standards. Key Activities: Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values. Record all information on each picking ticket and turn in a signed picking ticket. Load orders/building delivery materials according to the specifications on the delivery ticket and company standard. Provide exceptional customer service and team support. Advise management of any damage material or backordered item. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, identifying and addressing potential safety concerns. Properly secure loads to avoid any damages or safety issues. Operate equipment according to specification and in alignment with designated safety standards. If under 18 years of age: May NOT operate any equipment beyond a hand truck / dolly. Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc. Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong process/procedure orientation.
Effective written and verbal communication/comprehension skills.
Strong team and customer service skills.
Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.
Demonstrates initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
Safety conscious.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required. Track record of dependability.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 50 - 70 lbs. of force regularly. If under 18 the employee must obtain help to lift over 30 pounds and must be accomplished without equipment.
Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
Outdoor working conditions, sometimes in extreme climates.
