Project Manager With Utility ExperienceJob title: Project Manager with Utility Experience Location: Waltham, MA Duration: 12+ Months Job Purpose: Management and oversight of a number of projects from initiation to completion that deliver business change and subsequent benefits. Achieved by leveraging the range of resources and experience across the full IS function whilst influencing key stakeholders to achieve successful delivery Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How: A good extensive knowledge of the business and IS strategy and drivers for the project. Has proven leadership, relationship, communication and presentation skills A good track record of delivering IT projects. Understands National Grids policies, management structures and reporting procedures for all aspects of the project's environment. Demonstrate the Valued Business Partner capabilities and behaviours in all interactions with IS Colleagues, vendors and business stakeholders. Each role will work within one of the following areas: Operations, Network Strategy, Customer and Digital Transformation or US Corporate, IS, Shared Services. Skills: Manage a number (2 – 8) of projects that will flex to meet business demand. Delivery budget in the range of (USD)160k-(USD)8m Main Interfaces: Strategy & Relationship Management, Planning and Performance Management, Service Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, Centres of Excellence and Security Business Managers, Supplier Organisation Managers Key Accountabilities: Oversight of partner led projects to ensure appropriate project management disciplines are utilized and that projects are successfully led to completion. Analysis of vendor proposals related to projects and negotiation support for those proposals. Development of recommendations related to sourcing strategies for the projects, ensuring value for money is achieved. Managing projects within a business function utilising all available resources and relationships Lead teams adhering to project governance. Has a depth of knowledge to ensure predictable and unexpected complexities are effectively managed through stakeholder influence & management. Managing dependencies, risks, plans, costs and resourcing for each project and dependencies across interlinked projects Ensures that the project offers a range of options and implements a change which achieves the objectives that have been set and that the business benefits are realised Make use of full methodology and techniques autonomously for self and to supervise and advise others on appropriate approach. Operate as a role model for Valued Business Partner, championing similar behaviours across IS Education: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Relevant industry certification (e.g. PMI, Prince 2) desirable
