About the role
Join a national nonprofit trust administrator dedicated to helping children and adults protect their assets. This company provides great work/life balance and a flexible hybrid schedule. We're looking for a Trust tax expert to manage the preparation, review, and filing of federal and state tax returns for trusts and estates.
What you'll do:
Prepare/coordinate filing of Form 1041 fiduciary returns Prepare K-1s, grantor letters, 1099s, and other fiduciary tax documents Calculate DNI, capital gains, and other trust tax attributes; handle pooled trust unitization Manage trust termination tax matters (holdbacks, reserves, final returns)Research complex fiduciary tax issues and respond to IRS/state notices Monitor tax law changes and recommend process updates Partner with Trust Operations, Legal, Accounting, and Compliance as the fiduciary tax SME
What you bring:
Deep knowledge of fiduciary taxation — simple, complex, QDT, grantor, and non-grantor trusts Strong fiduciary accounting background Sharp analytical skills and attention to detailCPA required Bachelor's in Accounting/Taxation (Master's preferred)3–5 years in public accounting, taxation, or fiduciary tax
