Position Overview:
Country Hills Pet Hospital is an AAHA-accredited practice seeking an Associate Veterinarian who values collaboration, compassionate care, and a true team-based approach to veterinary medicine. Our highly trained certified veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff work within established protocols that allow veterinarians to focus on examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgery. Effective delegation and respect for every team member’s contribution are essential to success in this role. The position offers a fixed salary without production pressure, an exceptional support team, and opportunities to develop clinical skills through mentorship and a broad range of services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform thorough examinations, diagnose medical conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide preventive care and manage acute and chronic conditions. Perform routine surgical and dental procedures, with opportunities to develop advanced surgical skills. Interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and cytology. Communicate findings, treatment options, recommendations, and follow-up care clearly and compassionately. Delegate appropriately to credentialed technicians and assistants, consistent with their training and permitted scope of practice. Maintain accurate, timely medical records. Follow established hospital protocols and AAHA standards. Collaborate with the Hospital Director and hospital team to support consistent, high-quality patient care. Participate in continuing education, mentorship, and ongoing improvement of hospital practices.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent. Active Wisconsin veterinary license or eligibility to obtain licensure before employment. Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical, and communication skills appropriate to experience. Commitment to team-based medicine and effective utilization of support staff. Respect for established protocols and willingness to contribute constructively to their improvement. Positive, collaborative attitude and ability to prioritize in a busy general practice.
