Workers' Compensation Claims Associate (Entry Level)We're looking for a detail-oriented team member to help manage workers' compensation claims from start to finish. In this role, you'll review claims, coordinate with medical providers and adjusters, and help keep cases moving toward a fair, timely resolution. You'll get hands-on training in New York workers' comp processes and grow your skills in claims handling, medical billing, and case management.
What You'll Do:
You'll take ownership of a caseload of claims, starting with more straightforward files as you learn the ropes. Day to day, that means reviewing case details, checking in with claim adjusters, and making sure paperwork and deadlines are tracked accurately. You'll learn to read and respond to official rulings, keep your case notes and spreadsheets current, and follow up consistently so nothing falls through the cracks. You'll also work closely with a few key teams: the billing department to resolve outstanding claims, the verification team to flag any changes to a case (like a new carrier or billing address), and your supervisor whenever an issue needs extra support. Strong phone and email communication matters here, if an email isn't getting a response, you'll be expected to pick up the phone and follow through. Over time, you'll build familiarity with the standard forms and rules used in New York's workers' comp system, and you'll be expected to hit a steady daily caseload once you're up to speed.
What We're Looking For:
Some exposure to workers' compensation, billing, or insurance claims is a plus, but not required Comfortable learning new systems and processes quickly Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple cases at once Clear written and verbal communicator Able to work independently and stay productive under deadlines Basic understanding of confidentiality/privacy practices (HIPAA) is helpful, or willingness to learn Hourly Rate/ Salary is depending on experience.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
