Position: Construction Survey Crew Member / Survey Assistant
We are looking for dependable and motivated Construction Survey Crew Members to join our field surveying team. This is a hands-on position supporting construction layout and surveying operations on active construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Survey Crew Chief with daily field surveying operations
- Perform construction layout and staking for utilities, roads, grading, and site improvements
- Set stakes, hubs, benchmarks, and other survey points
- Operate and assist with GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, levels, and other surveying instruments
- Hold prism/rod and assist with collecting accurate field measurements
- Read and understand basic plans, drawings, and construction documents
- Maintain surveying equipment and keep the work area organized
- Follow safety procedures while working around heavy equipment and active construction sites
- Perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with the Crew Chief and construction personnel
Qualifications:
- Construction or surveying experience is a plus, but entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply
- Previous experience with survey equipment is preferred but not required
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labor
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry equipment as needed
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Must be able to work safely around construction equipment and job-site hazards
