Maintenance Manager | Distribution Center

Epic Personnel Partners is hiring an experienced Maintenance Manager for a high-volume grocery distribution facility in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
This hands‑on leadership position is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, equipment repairs, maintenance employees, outside vendors, and overall equipment reliability. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining conveyors, automated warehouse systems, forklifts, dock equipment, refrigeration systems, and other industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily maintenance operations throughout the distribution center
Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance technicians
Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Diagnose equipment problems and coordinate timely repairs
Maintain conveyors, automated systems, robotics, dock equipment, material‑handling equipment, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure
Minimize equipment downtime and operational interruptions
Manage work orders, maintenance records, parts inventory, and equipment history
Use a computerized maintenance management system to schedule and track repairs
Coordinate outside contractors, service providers, and equipment vendors
Monitor maintenance expenses, parts usage, labor costs, and department budgets
Maintain compliance with OSHA, lockout/tagout, food safety, and company standards
Conduct regular facility and equipment inspections
Partner with operations to schedule maintenance around production and shipping needs
Respond to urgent equipment and facility issues when needed
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency
Qualifications
Previous maintenance leadership experience in a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing plant, food facility, or industrial environment
Experience supervising maintenance technicians or skilled‑trades employees
Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting knowledge
Experience with conveyors, automated equipment, forklifts, dock systems, or warehouse robotics
Refrigeration and cold‑storage maintenance experience is a plus
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and work‑order tracking
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and workplace safety procedures
Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Flexible availability to respond to critical maintenance needs
Compensation
$70,000 per year
