SALARY
$131,000 per year
About the role
- Own the performance of the current production line
- Be the accountable engineer for rate, yield, and stability on the mainline through the remaining Gen1 program
- Drive continuous improvement against the established baseline: cycle time, first-pass yield, and top loss drivers, with visible results
- Lead structured problem solving from containment through permanent corrective action, and address non-conformances as they arise
- Share in system ownership across the line, carrying assigned subsystems through production support and product version changes: process plan and work instruction releases, ECO incorporation, tooling readiness, and technician training
- Share in the team's standing work: EVT build support, issue triage, tooling upkeep, and equipment commissioning
- Work with the manufacturing specialists to identify issues and drive them down, and build their capability to run and improve processes independently
- Improve safety through partnership with production and EH&SDevelop next-generation processes for assigned scope
- Own station-level process development within the Gen2 line architecture: process definition, PFMEAs, work instructions, and the tooling and equipment requirements identified by PDRBring current-line evidence into early DFM reviews and drive manufacturability into designs before they harden
- Support prototype and EVT builds, and carry assigned processes through Production Validation Testing
- Support the new gigafactory's development, launch, and commissioning
- Support the design and development of the new factory: contribute process and equipment requirements, station footprints, and material flow input to the factory design and its review cycle
- Install, qualify, and commission production equipment and processes at the new facility
- Transfer proven processes to the new site with documentation and training, and hand off to the local manufacturing engineering team with a bounded open-issues list
- Travel as required through launch and commissioning periods
- Contribute to Antora's culture
- Put team and mission first
- Invite critique early and treat feedback as material that strengthens the work
- Be someone technicians and engineers want building next to them
- 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering in a production environment, with direct ownership of a running line's or process's performance
- A demonstrated continuous improvement record with measured results: rate, yield, cycle time, scrap, or availability you can show you moved
- Structured problem-solving discipline: root cause analysis and process capability applied to real production issues; PFMEA experience
- Proven ability to author and own work instructions, control plans, and to incorporate engineering changes cleanly through MES/PLM and BOM structures
- Grounded in lean manufacturing: standard work, line balance, takt, material flow, and visual management
- Experience commissioning production equipment or bringing a line, station, or process from installation to technician-run production
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) sufficient to specify fixtures and review tooling designs for process fit
- Strong cross-functional collaborator, decisive with incomplete information, and comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment
- Ability to travel domestically as needed, up to approximately 25% during factory launch and commissioning periods, with typical travel expected to be significantly lower
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
