This is an ideal opportunity for a senior VMware consultant who enjoys the variety and flexibility of ad-hoc consulting and can seamlessly transition between pre-sales advisory work and technical delivery.
What You'll Do:
Partner with customers and internal stakeholders during pre-sales conversations to uncover technical challenges, business needs, and desired outcomes.
Translate customer problems into well-defined VMware infrastructure solutions and professional services engagements.
Help scope and package solutions, including defining project requirements, assumptions, risks, dependencies, timelines, and key deliverables.
Provide technical expertise and guidance around VMware environments, architecture, optimization, migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
Assess customer environments and identify potential risks, gaps, and areas requiring remediation or additional services.
Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), technical recommendations, project plans, and other customer-facing deliverables.
Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle—from discovery and solution design through hands-on implementation and execution.
Deliver technical consulting work directly, depending on customer and project needs.
Operate independently and effectively in an on-demand consulting model with shifting priorities and varying engagement scopes.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong, hands-on experience with VMware technologies and infrastructure, ideally across vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and broader virtualization/cloud environments.
- Previous experience in a Professional Services, Consulting, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Advisory capacity.
- Comfortable participating in pre-sales and customer discovery conversations and identifying opportunities for professional services.
- Ability to scope technical work, identify risks and dependencies, and translate ambiguous customer challenges into actionable solutions.
- Experience creating customer-facing documentation and deliverables such as SOWs, technical assessments, solution recommendations, and project plans.
- Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to build credibility with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on—able to advise on the solution and execute the work.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible, ad-hoc consulting environment.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
