About the role

Help inspire curiosity about space by engaging guests in hands-on learning and sharing fascinating facts about astronomy and the universe. Volunteers also help guests explore the planetarium's educational displays, including meteorites and other space-related exhibits, and share interesting information that encourages visitors to learn more. Additional responsibilities include helping keep the planetarium clean, organized, and welcoming, as well as assisting with special projects and other tasks as directed by the Planetarium Director
Responsibilities include: Answering questions about space and astronomy. Demonstrating how to safely use the SolarScope to view the Sun. Interacting with guests as they explore the planetarium's educational displays, including meteorites, and other space-related exhibits. Helping to keep the planetarium clean, organized, and welcoming. Assisting with special projects and other tasks as directed by the Planetarium Director. This role is ideal for individuals who love astronomy and enjoy education and public interactions. Social skills, reliability, and a willingness to assist where needed are essential. Must have a basic understanding of space science and be willing to learn.
