About the role
Podiatry RNThe Podiatry Support Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical and operational support for podiatry services within CCM Health's Rural Health Clinic. The RN works primarily alongside the podiatry physician during scheduled clinic days, assisting with patient care, procedures, routine nail care, wound care, patient education, and clinical documentation. The RN also dedicates time each week to coordinating podiatry services, managing patient scheduling and follow-up, maintaining supplies, and supporting continuity of care. When appropriate, the RN may provide independent nursing visits for established patients requiring wound assessments, dressing changes, or other routine nail and wound care services within the RN's scope of practice, demonstrated competency, and established protocols. This position supports efficient clinic operations, timely patient access, accurate documentation, and high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with podiatric conditions, diabetes, chronic wounds, and other conditions affecting foot health. Education/Training Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification within the required timeframe. Knowledge of nursing assessment, patient education, clinical documentation, infection prevention, and patient safety. Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and communicate clinic concerns appropriately. Strong communication, organization, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently while recognizing when provider consultation or escalation is needed. Skill(S) Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients of all ages, physicians, and co-workers (verbal and written).Detail oriented Positive attitude Organization skills Assessment skills Analytical skills Computer skills and knowledge of EMRGood organizational skills and time management skills Professional telephone etiquette Must adhere to HIPAA requirements ExperiencePrevious outpatient clinic, podiatry, wound care, or ambulatory nursing experience. Experience caring for patients with diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, or chronic wounds. Familiarity with electronic health records and outpatient clinical workflows. Knowledge of routine foot care documentation and payer coverage requirements. Experience with patient education and care coordination in a Rural Health Clinic or similar outpatient setting.
