This position will be responsible for managing the technical execution of projects both independently or under direction of Senior Engineering, such as packages and calculations. Ability to work with 2D and 3D design tools and lead and guide the designer/drafters. Provide support to estimating for bids, securing estimate for engineering and equipment. Will contribute to development of internal process and tools while looking for ways of improvement and implementation.Apply Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering workDevelop and review specifications, including design criteriaParticipate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontractingAssign work to teams, monitor and manage the workPerform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve complex engineering problemsReview vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolutionAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelinesOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Mechanical engineering field of study and a minimum of eight (8) years of work-related experienceAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsMust be able to travel up to 25%, international and domesticMust excel in a team-oriented, deadline-driven manufacturing environmentProficient with Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) conveyor design standardsFamiliar with material handling system PIDs, flowsheetsIntermediate knowledge of Autodesk or related toolsMust have proficiency with belt conveyor analysis software such as Sidewinder, Beltstat or Belt AnalystExperience in calculations and selection/specifications for material handling system components such as drive systems, belting idlers, pulleys, dust collection, hydraulic systems, etc.PreferredQualificationsTen (10) or more yeara work experienceMembership in technical society, such as Profession EngineerAdvanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materialsPractical field experienceIntermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
