Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to manage day-to-day HR administration, payroll compliance, employee records, and state agency correspondence. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, unemployment claims, employment verifications, and HRIS/payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data. Manage unemployment insurance claims and respond to state agency requests. Process wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and income withholding orders. Review and respond to payroll tax notices and withholding inquiries. Communicate with state agencies and authorized third parties regarding payroll and employee matters. Process employment verification requests. Maintain confidential HR and payroll documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and payroll regulations. Support multi-state HR/payroll administration. Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to resolve employee-related issues. Use Excel and HRIS/payroll systems to validate and maintain employee data.
Required Qualifications:
4–8 years of experience in HR Operations, HR Administration, Payroll, or HR Compliance. Hands-on experience processing wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, or income withholding orders. Experience managing unemployment claims and/or state agency correspondence. Experience handling employment verifications and payroll tax notices. Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems. Knowledge of payroll compliance and multi-state employment regulations. Strong Excel, data management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Dayforce. Multi-state HR/payroll administration experience. Experience working directly with state agencies. Background in retail, distribution, or corporate HR operations. Experience supporting a high-volume employee population. Important Requirement This is an Human Resources Specialist position, not a recruiting or Talent Acquisition role. Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with payroll compliance processes and employee administration.
Work Location: Candidates must be willing and able to work 100% onsite in Secaucus, New Jersey.
