Textile Buyer / Materials Specialist
Location: 100% on-site in Geneva County, Alabama
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

$75,000–$78,000 About the Opportunity
Our client is a specialized textile manufacturer producing high-performance fabrics for military, law enforcement, fire protection, industrial, and other demanding applications. The company manufactures and converts technical fabrics, including flame-resistant and ballistic materials, and performs specialized testing onsite. This is anonsite, hands-on opportunityfor someone with experience in textile manufacturing who wants to become deeply involved in the company's purchasing, materials, inventory, quality, and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with the plant team and learn how raw materials, fabric construction, quality, inventory, production, and customer requirements all connect.
What You'll Do:
Order yarn, raw materials, and other production materials
Audit and verify incoming orders and materials
Coordinate shipping and receiving activities
Maintain inventory control and perform inventory counts
Manage intercompany fabric transfers between U.S. and Canadian operations
Coordinate fabric transfers to subcontractors supporting government work
Enter costing information and maintain accurate records
Assist with month-end closeout activities
Develop an understanding of fabric construction, yarn specifications, quality requirements, and end-use applications
Work directly with the plant team to understand the complete manufacturing process
Support customer-related questions by developing a strong understanding of the company's products and specifications This role requires someone who is willing tolearn the operation from the plant floor firstand become familiar with the complete manufacturing process rather than stepping into a purely administrative position.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience with a textile manufacturing company in a similar role, such as Textile Technologist, Buyer/Purchaser, Materials Specialist, or similar
Background in textiles, fabric, yarn, textile production, or textile quality
Experience with fabric, yarn, and specification coding
Quality control experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong Excel skills
Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Able to understand how different manufacturing processes impact one another
Practical problem solver with strong common sense
Self-directed and comfortable thinking independently
Team-oriented and willing to wear multiple hats
U.S. citizenship required due to government contract work
