Tampa, FLAbout the OpportunityA well-established General Contractor in Tampa area is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong commercial construction background who is looking to take ownership of major projects and play a key role in the company's continued growth. You will be responsible for leading the estimating process from initial bid through to contract award, working closely with project management, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead estimates for commercial construction projects from concept through bid submission. Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents. Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and accurate cost estimates. Solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids. Develop competitive bid strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and pricing presentations. Collaborate with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and subcontractors. Identify potential project risks, exclusions, and scope gaps. Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Tampa market. Assist with value engineering and preconstruction activities.
The Ideal Candidate:
10+ years of construction estimating experience, with a General Contractor. Strong experience estimating ground up commercial construction projects. Excellent understanding of construction plans, specifications, and building processes. Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. Strong subcontractor and supplier relationships within the Florida market. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Proficiency with estimating and construction software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Procore, Sage, or similar platforms. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential. Apply today for a confidential discussion about the role and company.
