Participate in pre-sale conversations as needed to present creative concepts, explain production approaches, and answer client questions.
Assess the creative, operational, and financial feasibility of opportunities before they are sold, identifying assumptions, constraints, rights requirements, production capacity, and costs to reflect in the client agreement.
Project and Client Management Serve as the primary production contact for clients after a project is sold, leading kickoffs, setting expectations, presenting creative work, managing feedback and approvals, and addressing changes in scope, schedule, or budget.
Own multiple projects simultaneously from kickoff through closeout, balancing client commitments, editorial standards, production capacity, budgets, and delivery deadlines.
Maintain a clear view of active and prospective projects, schedules, budgets, deliverables, dependencies, and resource needs, and communicate risks to leadership and Sponsorship partners.
Coordinate with Sponsorship, Legal, Business Affairs, Editorial, Marketing, Audience Development, Finance, Production Operations, and other internal stakeholders to secure required input and approvals.
Production Develop and manage pre-production plans, schedules, scopes of work, production budgets, staffing plans, and client expectations for sold projects.
Hire and manage freelance crews, production companies, talent, and other vendors based on the creative and operational needs of each project.
Identify opportunities to use KQED facilities, equipment, and approved internal production capacity, and secure external resources when needed.
During production in the field, studio, or other settings, maintain KQED’s production quality, editorial standards, and agreed-upon client deliverables.
Manage project budgets throughout production, identifying and documenting changes to scope, schedule, or cost and reconciling expenses at project closeout.
Post-Production and Delivery Oversee post-production from paper edit through final delivery, managing editorial review, client feedback, revisions, version control, accessibility, quality control, and final approval.

Editorial Standards, Rights, and Compliance Ensure projects comply with KQED’s editorial and brand standards, sponsor-category restrictions, platform requirements, applicable union agreements, and FTC and other disclosure requirements.
Maintain a clear separation between sponsor influence and KQED’s independent editorial decision-making, escalating potential editorial conflicts or brand-safety concerns to the appropriate leader.
Coordinate releases, licenses, rights clearances, music permissions, insurance documentation, accessibility requirements, and other production documentation in partnership with Legal and Business Affairs.
Business Operations and Infrastructure Establish repeatable workflows, templates, production schedules, approval processes, and documentation covering the full branded-content lifecycle, from initial RFP through project closeout.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
