About the role
Role Summary:
The Equipment Rental Manger will manage the full scope of the L&G department. This role will oversee the equipment inventory, crew management, client services, and P&L performance. The Equipment Rental Manager will lead the day-to-day floor and warehouse operations for the L&G department and own the quoting process from start to finish. This role is the critical link between department leadership and the crew. This role is best suited for a deeply experienced production services professional who combines technical fluency with commercial acumen, and who can set a high standard for the team while building strong relationships with the productions we serve. The ideal candidate is hands-on leader who knows the equipment, warehouse logistics, and takes personal ownership of getting every production what it needs, when it needs it. This is an exempt, salary position. The range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, and a Flexible Time Off policy. Key Responsibility Areas: Departmental Leadership Manage all L&G staff including foremen, warehouse associates, and transport personnel; set standards for safety, quality, and client service; develop department budgets and resource plans. Equipment & Inventory Management Oversee, pull, and return lighting and grip equipment for each order; conduct pre-distribution equipment checks: and log accordingly in a timely manner. Supervise and coordinate all the daily activities in the warehouse. Coordinate with drivers for equipment pickups and drop offs. Work closely with the Lead Stage manager with scheduling on any extra help at the stages or warehouse. Oversee maintenance and lifecycle management of all L&G equipment assets; manage vendor relationships for procurement and servicing; understand and follow emerging technology including LED and virtual production. Client & Production Services Serve as the point of contact for production companies requiring L&G services on the lot; partner with Sales and Studio Management to package and price offerings competitively. Own the quoting process from start to finish. Quotes should be accurate before they go out with correct equipment codes/models, quantities, and pricing. If anything is unclear, communicate directly with production to confirm details, rather than proceeding on an assumption. P&L Ownership Own departmental financial performance; monitor revenue, utilization rates, and margin; identify new revenue streams; collaborate with accounting on billing, cost tracking, and forecasting. Safety & Compliance Champion a safety-first culture across all L&G operations; ensure compliance with OSHA, local codes, union agreements where applicable, and studio safety standards.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
