Quality Specialist Technologist, Anatomic Pathology
Position Summary: The Quality Specialist Technologist, Anatomic Pathology works under minimal supervision in a moderate and high-complexity Anatomic Pathology laboratory. This advanced-level position assists department supervisors and managers with executing quality requirements, operational priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Responsibilities: Demonstrate proficiency in the core responsibilities of a Histotechnologist and perform laboratory duties as assigned Attend monthly quality meetings and other required meetings Serve as a subject matter expert for the department’s Quality Management Program Ensure employees are assigned the appropriate QMS job codes and departmental Standard Operating Procedures Assist employees with navigating electronic document control and learning management systems Perform Anatomic Pathology quality onboarding activities Help prepare monthly metrics and presentation materials for quality review meetings Support the identification, investigation and resolution of nonconforming events, including CAPAs, issue reviews, customer complaints and planned deviations Assist department personnel with navigating quality event and CAPA systems Train employees on quality processes and the identification and reporting of nonconforming events Ensure audit findings are closed with complete and appropriate documentation Assist operational management with maintaining an inspection-ready laboratory
Education And Experience: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science, medical technology or a related field; ORAssociate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology; OREquivalent education consisting of 60 semester hours, including 24 semester hours in biological and chemical sciences Two or more years of histology or high-complexity laboratory testing experience preferred Advanced understanding of general laboratory practices and department-specific techniques Ability to lift up to 50 poundsHT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification required Salary range - $80 - 95K
