Pay: $30 - $45/hr Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Position Summary: Seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join a hospital-based Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank team. The role involves high-complexity laboratory testing, troubleshooting, quality control, and supporting safe and timely patient care.
Key Responsibilities: Perform Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine testing. Handle Type & Screen, Antibody Identification, DAT, Eluate, Phenotyping and Antigen Typing. Perform crossmatching and blood product preparation/modifications. Support Massive Transfusion Protocols and emergency-release procedures. Perform quality control, calibration and equipment maintenance. Troubleshoot testing, specimens, instruments and workflow issues. Review and report accurate laboratory results. Maintain compliance with laboratory and safety standards. Assist with training and competency of laboratory staff.
Requirements: Active ASCP or AMT MLS/MT certification, or qualifying MLT certification. Associate or Bachelor's degree in an applicable laboratory science field.2+ years of clinical laboratory experience for the MLT pathway. Hands-on Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine experience preferred. Ability to work independently in a high-complexity hospital laboratory. Must be comfortable working the Friday-Monday overnight schedule.
