We’re filling this role for AIIR, a communications and experiential agency that helps health, wellness, fitness, and performance brands sharpen their story, build credibility, earn trust, and accelerate growth through strategic communications, media relations, creator partnerships, brand activations, and performance marketing. AIIR is seeking an Account Supervisor to join its New York team. This role will lead the development and execution of media relations strategies across a growing portfolio of health, wellness, fitness, and performance brands. The Account Supervisor will work closely with agency leadership and client teams, serving as the primary day-to-day client contact while driving media outreach, storytelling, strategic counsel, team mentorship, reporting, events, and overall account management. ESSENTIALS: 5-8 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications (agency, in-house, or a combination) Proven track record serving as primary client contact and leading day-to-day account strategy Experience managing and mentoring junior team members Strong writer capable of producing press releases, pitches, and client reports with minimal edits Big-picture thinker who can connect PR results to client business and sales goals Sharp media relations instincts, with established relationships across journalists, editors, and social media influencers Entrenched in health, wellness, fitness, and performance (athletes and enthusiasts strongly encouraged to apply!) and consumer new media (especially Substack and Podcasts) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Client Counsel Serve as the main day-to-day contact for clients Lead client meetings and proactively pitch new PR strategies Provide senior-level counsel and strategic recommendations to strengthen client relationships Team Leadership Manage and mentor Junior Account Executives and other junior staff Review team writing and deliverables, providing feedback to elevate quality Teach and reinforce core PR skills, fostering professional growth across the team Media Strategy Secure high-quality earned media coverage across print, digital, and broadcast outlets Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and social media influencers Develop proactive story angles and identify new media opportunities Account Management Track team performance across client accounts Monitor scopes and flag risks to account leadership Crisis and Problem Solving Help clients navigate sudden PR issues or negative press Provide steady, solutions-oriented counsel under pressure Event Support and Guest Curation Support client events (launches, activations, etc.) by identifying and inviting the right mix of media, creators, and industry contacts Manage RSVPs and guest list to ensure the room reflects the brand’s target audience SKILLS AND SYSTEMS: Asana, Google Suite, Notion, and Slack MuckRack Associated Press Stylebook #J-18808-Ljbffr
