About the role
Director of Regulatory Affairs An established manufacturer of chemical products is seeking a Director of Regulatory Affairs to lead product compliance and guide regulatory strategy across commercial and consumer markets. This role offers the opportunity to shape compliance practices, advise senior leadership, and support product development and market expansion. We’re looking for an experienced regulatory professional who can translate complex requirements into practical business decisions while building consistent processes for documentation, approvals, and product changes.
What You’ll Do:
Own regulatory oversight throughout the product lifecycle, from formulation and development through packaging, transportation, and sale. Evaluate the compliance implications of changes to ingredients, suppliers, packaging, product claims, and existing formulations. Ensure product classifications, safety data sheets, labeling, warnings, and supporting technical information meet applicable requirements. Monitor regulatory developments and help leadership understand their potential impact, preparation needs, and implementation timelines. Strengthen systems for regulatory reviews, approvals, change management, record retention, and required submissions. Partner with technical, manufacturing, and commercial teams to resolve compliance questions and support product launches. Provide guidance for customer-branded products, international distribution, and online sales channels. Coordinate with environmental, health, and safety leadership on matters that intersect with product compliance. Develop procedures and training that help teams apply regulatory requirements consistently. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers and internal stakeholders, offering clear guidance and actionable recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
10+ years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, or chemical product compliance. Strong knowledge of requirements governing chemical classification, hazard communication, labeling, transportation, and commercialization. Experience applying relevant OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDA, CARB, TSCA, California Proposition 65, and REACH requirements. Ability to assess regulatory risk, establish priorities, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership. Experience improving compliance documentation, review procedures, and regulatory information management. A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, regulatory science, or a related technical discipline preferred. Substantial relevant experience combined with equivalent education will also be considered.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
