Job Description: Job Description We are seeking a skilled, part-time Mobile Automotive Mechanic to support a mobile mechanic business in Columbia. The mechanic will respond to service calls as needed, including emergency breakdowns, brake jobs, alternator repairs, and mixed vehicle types. The ideal candidate is fast, professional, knowledgeable, and comfortable working independently while reporting closely to the business owner. Personal access to a truck and trailer is preferred, and the successful candidate must pass a drug test.
Responsibilities: Perform mobile vehicle diagnostics and identify repair needs. Complete brake service and repairs. Repair and replace alternators and related electrical components. Respond to emergency roadside breakdowns and perform mobile repairs. Service diesel engines and repair trucks, including 18-wheelers when needed. Communicate professionally with customers regarding vehicle issues and repairs. Manage parts and supplies needed for service calls. Coordinate closely with the business owner and respond promptly to calls.
Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of automotive repair experience. Ability to work part-time and respond to service calls as needed, including 24/7 emergencies. Professional, knowledgeable, and responsive approach to mobile service. Ability to pass a drug test.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with automotive diagnostics, brake systems, and electrical systems. Knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles. Experience with roadside repair and emergency breakdown service. Strong time-management skills. Personal truck and trailer for mobile service calls.
