Real Estate Lending/Mortgage Fraud Specialist
Location: Vienna, VA or Winchester, VA Work model: hybrid, onsite 3 days (2 days remote)
Pay Rate: 30-40/hr W-2 Position Type: Multi-year Contract
Candidates must be able to pass both a credit and criminal background check. This role requires candidates with 2-5 years of professional experience and real estate lending experience (required). Key skills for this role include fraud detection and investigation, data analysis, communication and role will focus on protecting the organization and its members from financial fraud, account abuse, forgery, and suspicious activity. The individual monitors transactions, identifies fraud patterns, investigates potential fraud cases, documents findings, coordinates with security teams, and helps improve fraud detection processes and controls. The role also supports fraud-prevention projects, develops reporting and analysis, provides training, and collaborates with multiple business units to reduce risk while supporting business objectives. The position is analytical and operational in nature, requiring someone who can review large amounts of account and transaction data, recognize suspicious trends, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ensure fraud cases are handled accurately and efficiently. We are looking for candidates with 2–5 years of fraud analysis, banking operations, financial services, risk management, compliance, security operations, or investigations experience. Experience reviewing transactions and identifying suspicious activity. Strong Excel and reporting skills. Experience handling cases, tickets, investigations, or operational reviews. Knowledge of financial institution operations, lending, deposits, or payment systems. Excellent customer service and communication skills. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Criminal Justice, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
