About the role

Postdoctoral Position in Bioelectronics As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be at the heart of our research and innovation missions assigned to the Microelectronics Center of Provence, Bioelectronics department. Within this service, you will contribute to interdisciplinary research in the service of scientific and societal innovation. The Bioelectronics Department of the Microelectronics Center of Provence develops innovative technologies at the interface between electronics, materials, and life sciences. Located in Gardanne, in the heart of the Aix-Marseille region, it has a state-of-the-art research environment and a fully equipped cleanroom. Its teams operate in an international and interdisciplinary context, in close collaboration with academic and clinical partners. Strategic objective of the recruitment: To strengthen the research capabilities of the Bioelectronics Department with a postdoctoral researcher capable of developing a new generation of flexible organic optical sensors for in vivo calcium imaging. This recruitment will contribute to advancing a technology with high potential at the interface between microelectronics, bioelectronics, and neurosciences. Main missions: Develop and microfabricate organic flexible photodetectors in the form of high-resolution multipixel matrices. Develop the acquisition system allowing parallel reading of the different pixels. Ensure the conditioning, characterization, and benchmarking of the sensor in a biological environment. Analyze and evaluate the sensor's performance in the context of in vivo experiments, in collaboration with the Institute of Neurosciences of La Timone (INT).Value your work through scientific publications and international communications. Your ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary environment and to make the link between fundamental research, technological development, and health applications will be essential to succeed. What we are looking for: You hold a: Degree level of Bac + 5 or equivalent Doctorate (or on the verge of obtaining it), preferably in electrical engineering, microelectronics, biomedical engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering. And ideally: Doctorate degree 3 years of experience in organic electronics Junior accepted: yes Significant experience in microfabrication and work in a cleanroom Proven experience in organic electronics and/or in the fabrication of photodetectors Proven expertise in electrical and optical characterization Proficiency in English (C1 level) and in Matlab or Python for data analysis Your additional strengths: Experience in organic electronics and/or in the field of solar cells Experience in the characterization of sensors or optoelectronic devicesA marked interest in interdisciplinary research at the interface between electronics, materials, and life sciences Experience in an international research environment would be appreciated Candidates selected after reviewing their application will be interviewed at the end of October 2026.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
