About the role

Adventist Review Publications Manuscript CoordinatorEvaluates potential manuscripts and is involved in the workflow process for Adventist Review publications. Serves as main point of contact with authors regarding manuscripts, biographies, and agreements. Communicates editorial decisions and manages Adventist Review databases.Full-time hourly position with benefits. Remuneration: Grade 6 ($25.86 - $36.90)Hourly employees are eligible for benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plans, with eligibility based on hours worked.Associate EditorEssential Job FunctionsConducts the initial review of manuscript submissionsMaintains author, manuscript, and publication agreement databasesSends acceptance and rejection notifications after manuscript reviewMaintains communication with global partners to include sending translated files, Week of Prayer files, Adventist Review Digest, and monthly issue documents for translationMonitors manuscript workflow through Monday.comFlow-in news and articles into Wordpress (news has a daily cadence)Input metadata into online news and articles (news has a daily cadence)Flow-in articles for print into inCopyProofread print issueCollects author biographies and Form W-9sCalculates author remunerationMaintains string files for print magazineArchives extra copies of the magazine in the departmental libraryMail complimentary issue copies to authorsProvides event support by staffing the Adventist Review booth as neededParticipates in Editorial CommitteeSchedules and coordinates all staff, board, worship, and division meetingsRecords, distributes, and archives minutesHandles office correspondence, including letters, emails, and phone callsAdministers the office calendar, filing cabinets, mailboxes, and suppliesOffice event planning (Christmas parties, birthdays, flowers for special events)Communicates announcements, updates, and meeting information to staff and contractorsPrimary contact for SDA Yearbook changes and archival data maintenanceMaintains and updates subscription databases across the web portal and internal filesReports on subscription activity, including renewals, cancellations, and updatesMaintains mailing listsMust be a member in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist ChurchMust maintain a regular and reliable attendance schedule.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree with applicable coursework in journalism. Appropriate successful work experience may be acceptable in lieu of scholastic requirementThree to four years of relevant, progressive work experience are needed to gain the skills and knowledge required to perform job dutiesKnowledge Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of principles, policies and beliefs of the General Conference and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.Accurate English language usage including proficiency in spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc., and writing and proofreading skills are essential.Must have well-developed skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, Wordpress, Monday.com, SharePoint, and InCopy.
