- Safely operate an automated side loader (ASL) garbage truck on residential collection routes
- Use automated hydraulic controls to lift and empty carts into the vehicle
- Complete waste and recycling collection according to established route schedules
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Monitor vehicle operation and report maintenance concerns
- Navigate routes safely while complying with all DOT regulations and company policies
- Utilize onboard technology and route management systems
- Exit the vehicle when necessary to address contamination, blocked carts, missed stops or other service issues
- Deliver exceptional customer service and represent Granger professionally in the community
- Maintain accurate route documentation and complete required reports
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement required
- Strong driving record with a demonstrated commitment to safety
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, walking and climbing throughout the workday
- Ability to safely handle waste and recycling materials in various weather conditions
- Strong reliability, teamwork and decision-making skills
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment and random drug screenings (including marijuana)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of commercial driving experience preferred
- Work Schedule
- Start time: 5 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. Monday Friday (occasional Saturdays)
