About the role
- Prepare, label, package and stage prescriptions, including sterile admixtures, unit-dose and prepackaged medications
- Generate and process prescription batches for preparation and shipment
- Enter and maintain accurate prescription, inventory and shipment information
- Generate labels, pick lists and packages according to dispensing orders
- Coordinate with intake and billing teams regarding insurance authorization prior to shipment
- Receive, verify and document incoming medications and supplies
- Monitor outbound shipments and delivery documentation
- Assist with inventory management, rotation and returns
- Perform and document quality assurance activities
- Maintain a clean, organized and compliant pharmacy environment
- Work closely with pharmacists and other members of the pharmacy operations team
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience in a retail, hospital or specialty pharmacy environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeStrong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a regulated, fast-paced pharmacy environment
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- PreferredPharmacy Technician training program graduatePTCB or other approved national Pharmacy Technician certification
- Experience with CareTend or similar pharmacy software

- Qualified candidates who are not currently certified may still be considered. The selected candidate must obtain an approved national Pharmacy Technician certification and meet applicable New York State licensure/registration requirements within the required timeframe after hire.
