About the role
- Oversee daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper stock control, rotation, and replenishment practices
- Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards
- Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
- Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards
- Coordinate merchandising, signage, and product displays to support sales and customer engagement
- Review inventory trends, shrink, and discrepancies to identify and address areas of concern
- Support receiving processes by ensuring incoming product is properly checked for quality and accuracy
- Maintain overall department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with applicable regulations
- Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations
- Strong understanding of inventory control, product rotation, and stock management
- Ability to identify product quality issues and ensure proper handling standards
- Experience leading or overseeing team operations in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools
