About the role
Program Teacher Job Goal: To create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of young children. The teacher will foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through play-based and structured activities, while building strong partnerships with families and collaborating with colleagues to support each child's success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree required
- Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in at least one area of special education and a major or minor in early childhood education or child growth and developmentZA or ZS endorsement
- Terms of Employment:
- Full Benefits package181 day minimum work year based on school calendar
- Reports to ECP Administrator
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive peer interactions.
Assess and document children's progress through observations, portfolios, and developmental checklists.
Communicate regularly with families to share progress, address concerns, and build strong home–school partnerships.
Promote positive behavior guidance using supportive and respectful strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching program.
Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety in compliance with licensing and program standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
