Nurse Midwife - OB GYNPeaceHealth is seeking an experienced Nurse Midwife to join our team in Ketchikan, Alaska! The southern tip of the panhandle is known as the "Salmon Capital of the World."Practice Highlights Provides direct clinical services and management of mothers and babies as defined in the standing orders, policies, procedures and protocols for the certified nurse midwife. Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations. Document findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Perform approved therapeutic procedures based upon patient's clinical status. Document patient preparation and response to procedure(s).Collaborate with physician and nursing colleagues and document in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries. Educator Assess educational needs, plan, provide, and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff, interdisciplinary healthcare team, and community. Performs other duties as assigned. PeaceHealth has been serving the communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29-bed long-term care facility. Primary and specialty medical care is provided by PeaceHealth Medical Group Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES).Guaranteed first-year income, based on a 1.0 FTE and years of direct experience (0-3, 3-5, 5-9, 10+)Employment Bonus Relocation stipend based on miles between locations Education Loan Reimbursement program (if applicable and eligible)CME: up to $3,800 per calendar year for CME and/or professional dues/fees (based on 1.0 FTE; prorated for lower FTE) Comprehensive Benefit package including Medical /Dental / Vision / Disability / Life / Wellness
